    EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND FOUNDER

    Angi, Executive Director of Green String Network (GSN), is a dedicated healing-centered peacebuilding practitioner. As an American immigrant in Kenya, she brings a unique perspective to designing programs and curricula for trauma-affected communities in Somalia, Kenya, and South Sudan. With a doctorate from the Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies in Cambodia, Angi's research on healing-centered approaches informs GSN's groundbreaking work across the Horn of Africa. Her passion drives her to facilitate understanding of trauma's impact, promote open dialogue about violence, and empower communities to replace victimhood with resilience. Angi is a catalyst for transformative change and social healing.

  • Yvonne Gache

    DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMMES

    Yvonne, Director of Programs at GSN, is a counseling psychologist by training and a critical psychologist in practice. She develops culturally sensitive curricula, drawing from her extensive experience in drug rehabilitation, psycho-social support, and police training. As a passionate advocate for equitable access to mental health services and community empowerment, Yvonne is committed to evidence-based practices and continuously expands her knowledge to ensure GSN remains at the forefront of effective, culturally responsive interventions. Her dedication to sharing best practices and fostering collaboration exemplifies the transformative power of combining clinical expertise with a deep understanding of the social, cultural, and political contexts that shape well-being.

  • Maina Muthuma

    DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

    A family man with three daughters and a LOVE of all things cows and cars, Maina isn't your typical project administrator. But his unique blend of expertise makes him a valuable asset. Decades of experience running businesses and leading organizations, along with specialized knowledge in conflict zones, equip him to tackle complex challenges. Maina's strong communication, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities have been instrumental in supporting GSN's operations across a wide range of contexts, from election monitoring to humanitarian aid delivery. He excels in challenging environments, leveraging his wealth of experience in insurance, social justice (particularly minority protection), risk assessment, civil administration, and economic development to make significant contributions with a calm demeanor and a touch of practical wisdom gleaned from his agricultural background. Maina's unique combination of skills and perspectives enables him to navigate complex situations and ensure the smooth running of GSN's initiatives, always keeping the organization's mission at the forefront.

    FINANCE MANAGER

    Dorcas , a certified public accountant, brings a wealth of financial expertise to her role as Finance Manager consultant at Green String Network (GSN). With a diverse background spanning the private sector and NGOs, Dorcas specializes in financial reporting, analysis, donor reporting, compliance, risk management, cost controls, and cash flow forecasting. Her unwavering commitment to integrity and robust internal controls forms the bedrock of her approach, ensuring GSN maintains a solid financial foundation. Dorcas's passion for helping organizations thrive financially through proper bookkeeping, compliance, and internal controls is instrumental in enabling GSN to sustainably advance its mission of nurturing social healing and empowering communities.   • Wanjiku Waibochi

    KUMEKUCHA QUEST PROGRAMME COORDINATOR AND MONITORING & EVALUATION COORDINATOR

    Wanjiku, a key member of the Kumekucha Quest Leadership Team, is a passionate advocate for youth and vulnerable populations. With a background in Criminology and extensive training in children's rights, gender rights, youth justice, restorative justice, and violent extremism, Wanjiku brings a wealth of expertise to her role at GSN. She has dedicated her career to supporting at-risk, out-of-school, and unemployed youth, many of whom have faced mental health challenges, substance abuse, unstable home lives, and conflicts with the law. Wanjiku’s unwavering commitment to enriching the lives of young people and ensuring they enjoy the quality of life enshrined in their human rights drives her to develop and improve communities and initiatives that protect and support children and youth, equipping them with the tools they need for stronger socio-emotional well-being and a brighter future.

    TECH PLATFORMS MANAGER AND CONTENT CREATOR

    Wairimu is a passionate storyteller on a mission to transform youth mental health and trauma narratives through engaging content and dialogue. With a unique blend of tech expertise and 6 years of social media content creation experience, she crafts inspiring stories that encourage young people to dream big and harness the power of imagination for positive change. Driven by a desire to equip youth with essential digital well-being tools in today's dynamic landscape, Wairimu's work is a testament to the transformative power of storytelling in the digital age.

  • Jeremiah Kinyanyui

    KUMEKUCHA QUEST PROGRAMME ASSISTANT

    Jeremiah, a psychologist, artist, and social reformist, brings a wealth of experience and passion to his role as Project Assistant at Green String Network (GSN). With a multidisciplinary background in visual arts and psychology, Jeremiah has spent the past 7 years dedicated to catalyzing societal change and transformation in various communities. His expertise in using art as a remedy for trauma, coupled with his deep understanding of youth experiences and issues in Kenya, aligns seamlessly with GSN's healing-centered approach.     PROGRAMME ASSISTANT

    Tina is a Graphic Design Consultant who has lent her visual storytelling talents to GSN since 2017. Her compelling layouts for our curricula elevate the narrative impact, creating engaging learning experiences. Driven by a passion to support those overcoming trauma in transforming their lives with renewed focus and purpose, Tina's work aims to nurture peaceful, vibrant communities free from violence, substance abuse, and oppression.     ADMIN OFFICER

    Khadija is a seasoned Administrator. She brings over 15 years of diverse expertise to her role. Holding a Masters in International Relations with a focus on Development Studies, Khadija's background spans private sectors, NGOs, and international development. Khadija offers a unique blend of skills in front-office management, logistics, procurement, project management, and data management. Her positive attitude, dependable nature, team-oriented approach, diplomatic character, unwavering dedication, and hard-working spirit have made her an invaluable asset to GSN, playing a crucial role in supporting the organization's initiatives and driving sustainable change in the communities they serve.
